Remembrance Day
Thursday 11th November 2021
In school, we had a Remembrance Day service and observed the 2 minutes in silence and the children acted with respect and dignity.
It was lovely to see members of our class wearing their Scout and Guide Association uniforms with pride and representing their units. I also had the pleasure of spotting several of them during the Remembrance Day parade in the Public Gardens and through town on Sunday.
Mrs Brett's lesson on Thursday allowed the children to find out more about why we remember those soldiers who gave their lives for us and why the red poppy is the symbol we use. They asked thoughtful and insightful questions and were able to explain these to me.
