Walking Tour of Braintree
A busy start to the summer term.
Flamingos had a busy but exciting start to the summer term.
On Tuesday we visited Braintree town centre to help us better understand the history of where we live. We were able to see the many buildings, statues and parks that the Courtaulds had donated to the town, as well as the buildings that had once been weaving factories. The children then had the opportunity to relax in the park for a while and enjoy their lunch and an ice cream.
After lunch we walked along Bradford Street and the children were able to point out many of the buildings we had studied in our history lessons. We ended our trip by walking along the river, where the children were able to recall their knowledge of river features from last term.
Despite it being a long walk, the children were brilliantly behaved and enjoyed the day. Hopefully they will be able to wow you with their knowledge of Braintree Town when you are there.
On Thursday we had our sports day. The Flamingos participated brilliantly and tried their best in every event. They will find out on Wednesday who the top three in each event were, when we have our sports award assembly.
On both days, I had lovely comments complimenting the children's behaviour. This always makes me an exceptionally proud teacher.
