Amazing Art!
A fantastic week of art, based on the artist Kurt Scwitter, who created collages.
Our foundation subject lessons of art began this week with our research lesson, learning about collage and creating mood boards to inspire our final pieces of work:
We then moved on to experimenting with collage, tearing different papers, and sticking them into our books, collaging, overlaying and learning the technique:
For the design aspect of our lessons, we used 2d shapes to cut out different shapes from paper, and created designs after looking at London sky lines - thinking about building shapes, height and how we would create our own:
This afternoon, we made our own skylines, using sugar paper and collaging the shapes into buildings, we think they look fantastic!
I am so incredibly impressed and proud of the Elephants for their writing this week - they have produced some amazing travel guides to Peru, and blew my socks off! Mrs Smyth popped in to see them too and was equally impressed, awarding the whole class with a head teachers award - we have put this on display in our class window!
Have a lovely weekend!
