A busy first week back!
What a great first week back we've had - outdoor classroom day, making marmalade sandwiches and busy bees in the classroom!
On Thursday, it was Outdoor Classroom day - we made good use of this and for our English lesson, we went outside to make bird feeders - using time connectives. We gave instructions to each other, using a time connective, making a list of these - first, next, then, finally - as we used them:
Today, we hung them in our outside area, so we can keep an eye on the birds using them!
In our maths lesson for outdoor classroom day, we popped to the copse and made some fantastic patterns using natural materials, and did some measuring and comparing of lengths using sticks.
In our English lessons this week, we have also been learning about command sentences, using imperative verbs to follow and give instructions, ready for writing our recipe more making sandwiches next week, so what better reason than to make sandwiches ourselves today - marmalade sandwiches! (Although I may have been sneaky and used apricot jam so the children enjoyed their snack!)
