More super learning
Well done this week on brilliant measuring in maths, diary writing in English and great making and investigating skills in Science, DT and outdoor learning.
As we near the end of week 5 of home learning, I wanted to share some of the superb learning that has been happening from the children in the Dolphins class.
We are really enjoying the 1:1 reading in the afternoons. It's a great chance to have a chat and share some good books. Here's Lacey reading to Miss Wright:
Remember, you can read the Bug Club books online - I am giving rewards for every book read on there, and I check it daily, so keep up the hard work! If it's difficult to have the Bug Club book on a screen as well as Microsoft Teams, we can share a book with the children from our screens.
Lots of you have set up the science experiment for this week and well done for some super write-ups of this investigation. It's fascinating to see the colour of the petals change colour.
I can't believe how many birds you saw over the weekend as part of the Big Garden Birdwatch. I saw zero thanks to the two furry felines I own! These bird feeders you have been making have certainly helped lure the birds in:
In maths this week, we have been learning about length and height. There has been some superb measuring happening using pennies, gummy bears, blocks Lego, rulers and tape measures.
In English this week, the children have been learning about diary writing. Here is one of the many excellent diary entries:
Harry tried really hard with his handwriting, full stop, capitals letters and time connectives. He's also added feelings and adjectives in.
What a fantastic week. I will continue to give rewards on DB Primary if you attend the live sessions. Well done this week to Lacey, Harry, Rokas and Thomas who have attended ALL of the live sessions.
