A busy first half-term of sport

Children across the school have enjoyed their PE lessons, clubs and events.

We have had a great start to the new school year, beginning by being awarded the School Games Gold Mark. This shows our commitment to delivering high quality PE lessons and attending events and competitions.

Children across the school have been enjoying their PE lessons, some of which are now being delivered by a coach from FITC and are proving to be very popular. It has been lovely to see the children engaged and enjoying all of their PE, which has included football, hockey, dance and gymnastics.

We have already been able to attend several sporting events this term. A team of 10 children from year 2 took part in a football festival where they were able to improve their football skills and take part in some mini-games.

We have also taken children to a Panathlon ten-pin bowling competition where we came third and a boccia tournament, where I have been told the children had a fabulous morning.

Earlier this our year 5/6 football team took part in their first competitive tournament for some time and had a brilliant morning, with some great football played.

This team has been entered into the local school's football league, so I am looking forward to seeing them develop and progress as a team over the coming months. Look out for the match reports when we get going.
