Ten year 6 children participated in the Bikeability course.  The course includes teaching the children to (amongst other skills):

Start and stop with more confidence

Pass stationary vehicles parked on a road

Understand the road: signals, signs and road markings

Negotiate the road: including quiet junctions, crossroads and roundabouts

Share the road with other vehicles

Held over two days, the children learn: to safety check their bicycle before even starting off their journey.  Once this course is completed and taking into consideration observations made by the instructors, school  these children then gain the privilege to ride their bike to school.
