Duxford

We visited Duxford today as part of our Invasion and Warfare topic.

For the final part of our Invasion and Warfare topic where we have been studying World War Two we went to Duxford Imperial War Museum to see aircraft from WW2 and see how people lived.

From the early days of flight, through to the dramatic days of the Second World War and the technological advances of the Cold War, IWM Duxford has played a central role in some of the most significant periods of 20th-century history - during WW2 Duxford was actually RAF Duxford and many of th planes taking part in the Battle of Britain actually took off from Duxford.

Inside every hangar and exhibition, we discovered iconic aircraft, saw historic objects  and uncovered hundreds of personal stories of the many lives impacted by conflict.

These are just few of the many photos taken - hopefully they will encourage your child to tell you something about what they saw/did today!
