Play time!
Welcome to the Spring 1 term of school - our new topic is Play Time - a history based topic learning all about the Victorian Era.
Hope you all had a lovely rest over Christmas and new year - it was lovely to see my Crocodiles back in fab moods this morning, approaching their learning with enthusiasm, eagerness and with lots of laughter as always!
Our topic this half term is Play Time - we will be learning all about the Victorian era and the types of toys they played with. Our first two weeks of the half term will be history based, learning about when the Victorian era was, what toys Victorian children played with, whether they were different for rich and poor children and what types of toys we play with now that they played with back then too.
We are very excited about our school trip to Braintree Museum on Wednesday, where we will be taking part in lots of different activities to help us learn about the Victorians, including being in a Victorian classroom! Don't forget your costumes!
As always, please remember to read (and record!) with your children at home - this really helps them to practice the skills they learn in school and is very much appreciated! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to drop me an email or catch me on the door.
Have a nice weekend,
Miss Hatchman
