Bready or not, here they come
Bread making in the Dolphins class
On Monday the children were so excited to make bread. I was so impressed with how sensible all the children were in class, waiting patiently and taking turns to mix the ingredients. We did all get a bit sticky when kneading the dough but thankfully all the rolls turned out nicely and I enjoyed mine with a cup of tea after school.
The bread making inspired some of the children to try making it at home and it really helped when writing out the instructions.
We have finished our work on 2D shapes and 3D shapes, and the children took a quiz really impressing me with everything they have remembered. We will now be moving onto place value looking at tens and ones.
St Paul’s cathedral has been our inspiration for art this week. The Great Fire of London destroyed St Paul’s cathedral, so we discussed the role Christopher Wren played in designing the new cathedral. The children loved the bright colours of the stain glassed windows and created their own. We challenged the children to draw St Pauls cathedral and were very impressed with the results.
Our Christmas music video will be shown on the school website on the 2nd December.
