What's the weather doing today?
What a busy week!
Thank you for coming to see the Harvest Festival on Wednesday we really hope you enjoyed it. The children did such an amazing job! Beautiful singing and lovely clear voices. Thank you also for all of your generous contributions to the Braintree food bank.
This week the children have been busy preparing to write their own story which they will do next week. They developed their own superhero character a few weeks ago, we have looked at a selection of superhero stories and at the end of this week the children planned their own story onto a story mountain.
In maths, we have been looking at both addition and subtraction crossing 10 and several methods that the children can use to work out these calculations.
TT rock stars is still going strong and lots of children moving up the board. Keep practising at home as it really does make all the difference!
This week's foundation focus has been Geography, and we have been exploring weather. What weather is, how it is measured and the importance (for some key people pilots/farmers/sailors) of knowing what the weather forecast is. We found out all about meteorologists and had a go at making our own rain gauges. We are going to leave them outside and see if we can measure rainfall over the next week.
Here are some of the finished products!!.
Another job we have done is our Christmas card design to be sent to the printers...In a few weeks time you will have the option to view your child's design and then have it printed onto various items. The proceeds all go to the Beckers Green school fund.
Happy weekend!!!
